There were many things to be grateful for in 2022

As we approach the end of the year and begin to look ahead to 2023, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the past 12 months. So for our last update of 2022, we wanted to share some reflections on what has been another eventful year filled with much impact, as well as many things to be proud of and grateful for.

Below are some of the standout positives from 2022, a year that was undoubtedly filled with turmoil and disruption.

We were absolutely overwhelmed by the support at the launch of the Parents Plus ADHD Professional Programme. This was our most successful online seminar, which saw record attendance from services across CAMHS, primary care, and family support, tuning in to learn more about this vital programme. We used this opportunity to allow parents to tell professionals how the programme has impacted them, their child with ADHD and their whole family.

Another standout positive was the unbelievable impact we are making through our partnership with the Community Foundation for Ireland and the RTE Toy Show grant. Thanks to the generosity of the public, we have been able to scale a life-changing pilot – online delivery of the Parents Plus programmes via national partner organisations such as Parentline, creating a far-reaching and generational impact.

We also had the unique opportunity to speak on the opening day of the What Works Festival of Learning about our first in-the-world Parents Plus Special Needs Programme and its impact on disability services across Ireland and the families they support. Roderic O’Gorman TD, Minister for Children, Disability, Equality, Integration and Youth, opened the 3-day event explaining that this “is an opportunity to share knowledge and best practices for prevention and early intervention.” We couldn’t agree more!

Looking ahead to 2023 Parents Plus is steadfastly committed to training, supervising and empowering services to improve outcomes for families and children on the frontline of Community, Health, Education and Disability Services.

Through our partnerships with professionals and services, using our evidence-based programmes, together we can continue to have a genuine and lasting impact on the lives of families and children across the island of Ireland.

So to all the fantastic organisations, we partner with to make the world a better place for all families, and to all the generous, passionate people giving their time and expertise, a big thank you!

We look forward to working with you all in 2023 and strengthening families together.

From all of us at Parents Plus, we hope you and your loved ones have a lovely Christmas and a wonderful start to the New Year.

See you in 2023
