Parents Plus is seeking applications from skilled trustees to join Parents Plus Subcommittees.
The charity is eager to hear from people who are committed to a belief in the importance of strengthening families across Ireland.
Parents Plus’ mission is to improve outcomes and well-being for children, adolescents and their families by empowering professionals to deliver our evidence-based parenting and mental health programmes through their services in local communities.
Parents Plus vision is that families in need have access to proven and tailored tools from the services they turn to, in their communities, early on in their journey, improving their outcomes and preventing difficulties or crises arising.
To support delivery of our mission and vision, Parents Plus is seeking applications from skilled and motivated people, who can serve on Parents Plus Subcommittees to advise and guide the organisation to the next stage of its development in delivering lasting impact for services and families. This is an excellent opportunity for people with the relevant skills to get to experience, interact and advise at a subcommittee level without taking on the legal responsibility of becoming a Board Trustee. It provides the opportunity to get to know the Board of Trustees of Parents Plus and to understand Board responsibilities in the charity sector. Furthermore, there is also the opportunity for the right individual to become a Board Trustee in the future.
We welcome applications from individuals to join the following Subcommittees:
- HR and Remuneration
- Governance
- Research, Development and Impact
Commitment of Subcommittee Members
Individuals are expected to attend 6-8 Subcommittee meetings a year (the majority held virtually) along with any relevant preparatory work required. We envision that Subcommittee members who become involved consider they are making a 1 to 2 year commitment to this position with the potential of joining as a Board Trustee after this time. As per the Charity Governance code, Subcommittee members and Board Trustees are voluntary appointments.
